LOST is back, baybee!!!
January 23, 2009

The LONG wait is over. LOST returned to TV this past Wednesday. It was gooooood.
I am talking about the Season 5 PREMIERE so if you have NOT seen it yet, STOP READING!!!! Here are some of my random thoughts (do I have any other kind?):
I got dizzy from all the flash-backs, flashforwards, AND present time! I actually don’t know now which time they are supposed to be in. I think that was the point… a personification of what the island is experiencing as it jumps through time.
Who else thinks Sawyer & Juliet will hook up? Sawyer… mmmm.
And anyone else think Daniel Farraday is starting to look kinda sexy as he mans up and is acting all tough & stuff?
I cracked myself up because a few times I actually guessed ahead of time what the next line was about to be. Like when Charlotte & Daniel were talking about her bloody nose, and she said, “Daniel!?” I said, “Do you know what is happening to me?” SCORE!
(HEY! Don’t stop reading now, or you will miss an AWESOME clip at the end!)

Anyway, since I slacked off in my LOST commentary in 2008 let me just touch on a few things from last season- I am TOTALLY upset at the producers that they cut so short the reunion between Alex & Rousseau. They could have developed that soooo much better. WHAT a letdown. They deserved more time together. But maybe there is still hope, seeing as how dead people don’t seem to stay dead on the Island.
Did anyone else feel sorry for Ben when he was weeping and pushing the donkey wheel to move the island? I think he actually really cares about the Island… not just for what it can do for him. Maybe.
And ANOTHER other thing about last season… I can’t shake the nagging feeling that we really missed out on some good plotlines, & better storyline & character development because of the writers’ strike. I heard we would have gotten more about Miles (COOL character), and Claire. I keep lamenting over what might have been. -SIGH-
And speaking of writing, a friend of mine who works at our local TV news station got to interview the 2 main producers of LOST via satellite for 5 minutes (SO COOL!). He said that they told him they have written a LOST “Bible” of sorts so they can keep track of all the mythology as they wind down the series. I would LOVE to get my hands on that book!!!
Okay, back to business. Locke- good or evil? Both?
Speaking of evil… Sun was SCARY angry and steely cold in this eppy. Know who she reminds me of? Evil Jin. How ironic. Especially if he is NOT dead (as I have suspected for a while) and they reunite… only to discover that he has reverted back to a kinder, gentler Jin… but she is now Evil Sun! (dum DA dummm)
And WHO WAS THAT annoying, whining Paulo-type new character? I was like, “WHY are you talking so much? Who ARE you?” I actually laughed when he got an flaming arrow to the chest at the word- “FIRE!” I must therefore be evil. Evil Goldie! (dum DA dummmm!)
I still love Hurley, and how it broke his heart to lie. But he kinda freaked me out with that evil grin on his face when he got arrested and thought he b-slapped Ben’s evil plan. Plus, hadn’t Ana Lucia said “Don’t get arrested?” Uh-oh!
Gotta love how Hurley still bailed out Sayid, even though he had sworn that he WOULD NOT after his boy didn’t back him up. And then Sayid, passed out in the car wearing those shades, cracked me up. Very “Weekend at Bernie’s”. LOVE me some Sayid!
So, in honor of the return of LOST I give you this celebratory dance. Everybody boogie! Naveen Andrews ROCKS in this clip from “Bride & Prejudice”. It is a Bollywood-type film, and the scene is from a Punjabi wedding ceremony. It reminds me of those cool music videos from India that come on the TV late at night. Dude, who knew Sayid could DANCE!?

Dude, I totally said “It’s just like Weekend at Bernie’s” when he put those sunglasses on Sayid! Too funny.
Great (GREAT!) start to the season, I thought. Love the Dharma flashbacks, too.
I can’t figure Ben out. Good, bad, or what?? No clue. But I like the little guy for some reason!

I’m a big Lost fan also! Great commentary, Goldie. Sayid’s totally my fave.

Was Ben crying as he pushed the wheel? I thought he was just sweaty and exerting himself.
I got all teary when Hurley’s mom patted his hand and told him, “I believe you. I don’t understand, but I believe you.”
Also, what was up with that freaky butcher? How many people does Ben have off-island, and what is their purpose? I thought for sure he was going to tell her to cut Locke into pieces with her giant cleaver.

KRISTIN!!!! LOL. At least I didn’t give that much away. Do I need a disclaimer at the top? I though the title kinda gave a clue as to the contents of the post, goofy! Do you have “mommy brain” ? Ah, the joyous life of a new baby and sleep deprivation. Now stop reading or you will learn even more new things.
LOL Missy.
Tanya, I can’t decide if I like Sawyer or Sayid better. I keep changing my mind depending on the current hotness factor.
Kemi, yeah he WAS freaky. And that mom moment also got to me… especially considering how rudely she USED to treat him pre-lottery. It was a turning point for them.
and i googled it, ben really was crying b/c he knew he could never go back.

I got lost with Lost and stopped watching it.
We are light years behind anyway I think. TVNZ takes FOREVER to pick up series.
I have the DVD of Bride and Prejudice.
LOVE IT !!!

I am probably the only person on the planet who doesn’t watch Lost. I just could not get into it, I did try, now I am so hopefully Lost, pardon the pun.
I am into Life on Mars. We really enjoy it and the writing is good and it is so 70’s.
