An Image of Motherhood

mom kiss

My oldest son Thomas received a small injury yesterday.  He ran to me whimpering and I took him into my arms to comfort him.  “I got a boo-boo.  Will you kiss it?”  I looked down and he was pointing to the offending area.

On his rear-end.

He even pulled down his pants so I could gain easier access.  With half a giggle AND a sigh I leaned down and gingerly applied my lips to his upper thigh where it met his behind.   “NO, not there, THERE!” he said, pulling back his underwear and revealing more skin.  “I can’t believe I am actually doing this,” I thought as I leaned down again.  My second attempt was more successful and he walked away satisified and sufficently comforted.

Oh, the things we do for our children.  Pucker up, Mom.

ROFL! I have sooooo been there.

LOL, that is so funny! Haven’t we all been there in one way or another!!!! hugs!

LOL! The boo boo kiss is universal to mommidom.

Out of the Mouths of Babes! Reminds me of yet another accident on the moon climber I just had last week at school. This time it was a girl. LOL! (I had a child break his arm falling off of the moon climber this year): http://mercedesrules.wordpress.com/2007/09/18/moon-climber/

What we wouldn’t do for our children. Thanks for stopping by my place and leaving kind words. Nice to meet you. ~ Trish

It was nice to meet you too! Thanks for visiting me back! You have an amazing eye for photography!!

I am glad all you mommies enjoyed my story! Mer, you count too, I am sure you have kissed Patch’s boo-boos! Hugs back, Winnie!

Yeah~ I am always kissing Patch and don’t forget my Kindergarteners! At school, when someone gets hurt, I say very dramatically: Do I need to call 911? and I pull my phone out-that usually gets a smile/laugh and I can tell how serious it really is. LOL!

YOU’RE THE BEST MOM EVER!!! :)

aw thanks, Mel! But I bet if you had kids you would be even better-er than me!!! B/c YOU are great, and I have a lot of room for improvement.
